The JD (Jay Dee) rivet features a unique head design distinct from traditional minus mold rivets. Viewed from above, its head displays a single dot within a circle, resembling a jog dial, hatch, or warhead missile—making it ideal for replacing circular joint parts. While classic options like minus mold rivets remain popular, the JD rivet offers an expanded choice alongside HS and US rivets. Precision-machined, these rivets require no additional filing or sanding, helping you save time on small part preparation.

To install, drill a hole that matches the shaft diameter at the desired spot and secure the part in place. For bonding to model bodies or other components, using cyanoacrylate adhesive or clear epoxy glue is recommended. Before painting, clean and degrease the parts with ethanol or a similar solution, then apply a metal primer prior to using model paints. Alternatively, you can attach them after painting to hide the mounting holes and simplify detailed color separation work.
