The MiG-35 is built upon the successful design of the MiG-29K/KUB and MiG-29M/M2 aircraft. It boasts a larger payload capacity on nine hardpoints, increased fuel load, and advanced features such as a mid-air refueling system and buddy-buddy refueling capability. The fighter's airframe and key systems have been designed with corrosion-resistant protection, making it suitable for operation in various weather conditions, including carrierborne environments. Additionally, the MiG-35 has a reduced radar signature and a reliable three-channel digital integrated quadruple-redundant fly-by-wire control system. Its operating characteristics have been improved, including increased reliability and extended service life for the airframe, engine, and avionics. According to MiG Corp., the MiG-35 has a significantly lower cost per flying hour compared to the MiG-29.
