The Douglas A-26 Invader, a WWII American twin-engine bomber, was highly regarded for its superior flight performance and armaments. Between 1942 and 1945, 1355 A-26B aircraft were produced, equipped with a solid nose and 6-8 12.7 mm Browning machine guns, while 1091 A-26C aircraft had a glass nose. These bombers were utilized throughout the Western Europe, Italy, and Pacific theaters during 1944-1945, effectively targeting enemy rear lines, railways, and highways until the end of the war.
