The Messerschmitt Bf109 E-4/7 was a key German fighter in early World War II, powered by a strong engine and armed with machine guns and cannons. It was fast and agile, matching British fighters in battle but had limited flight time over enemy skies. Later versions added extra fuel tanks to improve range. After the Battle of Britain, these planes served in North Africa and were eventually replaced but still used for ground support by experienced pilots until 1942.
