TOS-1 is a 220mm 24-barrel (Ob.634B or TOS-1A) multiple rocket launcher and thermobaric weapon based on a T-72 tank. Developed by the Soviet Union, it is designed to penetrate enemy fortifications, personnel in open terrain, and lightly armored vehicles. First tested in combat in the Panjshir Valley in the late 1980s during the Soviet-Afghan war, it was introduced to the public in Omsk in 1999.
